Moba Hotel and Conventions Centre

The breakfast was very good and well prepared, and the staff made a real effort to welcome us while staying professional. We stayed from the 24th to the 27th at Moba Hotel and had a pleasant visit. It seems the hotel has acted on earlier reviews, with noticeable improvements to the customer experience. During our stay, however, the poolside garden, pop-up area and playground were still being renovated. The photos on the website don’t show that.

The place is easy to get to, but the facility needs a lot of upkeep. Most staff could use mentoring or retraining on how to deal with customers. Meals take far too long to arrive, and staff rarely apologize for the delays. Unless you keep on top of things, nothing seems to get done.

The staff are polite and respectful.

The bed bugs were the worst part of our stay. There was also no Wi-Fi in the room, and the pool stayed moldy even though we were told on the first day it would be cleaned the next morning. Two days later, it still hadn't been done. Air conditioning only seemed to be available at 10:20 PM, as if the hours were restricted. Whenever we asked about the manager, we got a different story: they’d arrive in a couple of hours, then that night, then the next morning because they weren’t in that day. They said there was no laundry service on Sunday but would take our clothes for Monday. When we asked for them Sunday afternoon, we were told they were drying and could be collected later. They also wouldn’t tell me the price until the laundry was finished. Staff seemed quick and helpful at first, but it didn't feel sincere looking back. Just peachy.
