Kitwe has its challenges, like any other African city, but staying at a guest house like this makes it worth spending a little longer and seeing what else the city has to offer. It feels like an ambassador for Zambia's policy of attracting foreign investment to this lovely, resource-rich African country. I also really like the place's rustic atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the food is great.

Stayed four nights at this really nice lodge and accommodation in Kitwe, Zambia. Old-school service and food make it the place to stay. 100% recommend. 💥💯

We'd enjoyed the food on our first two visits, so it's a shame that this third trip was such a letdown. We won't be coming back. The paneer starter was the one thing that worked. The chicken biryani was overcooked and much hotter than the moderate heat we ordered, with dry, hard pieces of chicken. Some naan was doughy and undercooked, while other bits were burnt. The cappuccino tasted like plain white coffee, without flavor or foam. Even the two cats by our table seemed to be having a better meal than we were.

We always have a pleasant stay at Mukwa Lodge. The rooms are tidy and clean, and the staff are both friendly and professional. We especially enjoy the Indian food at the restaurant. I'd definitely recommend this lodge.
