The natural setting and quiet atmosphere made it a lovely place to unwind. Munga Eco-Lodge is a hidden gem in Zambia, with an eco-friendly design that fits beautifully into the surroundings. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff kind and helpful, and I loved the organic food and peaceful feel. It was a great way to experience Zambian hospitality. Highly recommended.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, and the restaurant food was delicious. I had a bad experience during my stay at Munga lodge, but the manager was fantastic about helping sort it out and let me move into the lodge’s best room. The restaurant staff were so friendly and polite. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in Livingstone.

We had some evening load-shedding that affected all of Livingstone, but the staff made sure we were comfortable. The family chalet was huge, with high ceilings, big beds and an outdoor shower you really have to experience. Mr Innocent, the manager, had everything arranged, from airport pick-ups to a brilliant trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana. The staff were wonderful, especially Norah. Munga Eco-Lodge is a lovely place to stay, and our favorite place in Africa!

My friend and I stayed here last year, and we still talk about how comfortable the beds were. It’s super chill, and they even found us a spot at devils pool at the last minute. Couldn’t ask for more :)

October 2024 The staff are super friendly, and I did enjoy staying here. The chalets and thatched roofs look amazing and fit the ECO setting, while the location right on the Elephant Corridor gave us the treat of seeing these magnificent animals close up from the lodge. I was told the owners are a couple who live outside Zambia and visit only now and then, leaving local staff to run the place. Having worked in hospitality at the highest levels, I can see a lot of potential here and would love to help as a relief consultant manager, because the team seems willing but may need some direction and know-how. The main problem was planning around power cuts. I don’t blame the lodge for ZESCO outages, which I understand are due to government planning, but management should have a generator to keep the fridges running. With no fans in temperatures in the high 30s, sleeping was almost impossible and the nights were very uncomfortable. Nothing at the bar was cold, so I went elsewhere for a refreshing drink. We tried to order food, but the friendly waitress brought the menu and then said nothing was available because there was no stock after the fridges stopped working, which they blamed on Zesco. The beautiful ECO Pool was cracked and empty, and it looked like it hadn’t been maintained for years. I was told they had a repair quote, but we’ll see. The lodge has an arrangement with the one next door for swimming, but that lodge initially wanted to charge us to use its pool. We sorted it out after negotiating. Breakfast is included, but there was a lot missing. When I asked for an omelette, I was told all the usual extras would cost more. The fruit juice was made from concentrate and water, and they didn’t have the juice we asked for because of low stock. That seemed like poor planning from a chef who wasn’t keeping an inventory. I’d return for the beautiful location, chalets and friendly staff, but I’d also like to see better planning and clearer direction for this place. It feels like a ship without a rudder, drifting through all its potential.
