I wouldn't recommend it. The staff seem generally unwelcoming toward expats. Breakfast is just white bread and jam. Homeless people are in the parking area during the day, and there's no daytime security.

Pumulani Lodge is right in the central business district, which is a prime spot. The rooms are clean and well kept, though breakfast could be better. Some guests may also miss having a restaurant on site.

The rooms were very clean, with a comfortable bed, and I liked having a view of the pool. They also had solar lights in case the genset wasn't running, and it did run for a few hours, which was good. The location near the CBD is another plus, especially at this low to mid-range price. I spent a night at Pumulani after I couldn't put up with the service at The Courtyard Hotel. I'll review that place separately later. Pumulani was okay, but seemed to be renovating the kitchen and restaurant, so don't count on a decent meal there. You can go across to Flavours Pub and Grill or order delivery from there, or somewhere like that.
