The room itself was okay, but our clothes were taken from it. Breakfast was too small, and coffee was hard to come by. The prices were far too high, since much cheaper services are available in town. I also wouldn't use the hotel's service for a Victoria Falls visit or safari. To top it off, the manager flirted with my wife and offered me six cows for her.

We had seven of us at Cypress for a week, and the lodge was kept so well you wouldn't have guessed we'd all been there. The three women handling the kitchen and cleaning did a great job, and breakfast was lovely each morning. Calvin and Ben were friendly hosts and made sure we had what we needed. Reuben and Madame, the proprietors, are warm people who really understand hospitality, and we enjoyed getting to know them. I'm told Calvin cooks too, and my taste buds can confirm it. Our stay also gave us a real appreciation for Zambian culture. One tip for a December visit to Livingstone: the falls may not be at their best then, but you can eat all the fresh ripe mangoes you want.

Kelvin and General Mwanza looked after us so well during our three nights. The rooms were lovely, breakfast was a good way to start the day, and the price was great. We'll be back, see you next time.

The Airbnb host doesn't update the system when the place is fully booked, so you can end up paying a deposit for accommodation that's already taken.
