The main issue was all the flies around reception and in the dining hall. Otherwise, I was very impressed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I spent about 5 nights there and it felt like home. I had almost all my meals at the hotel, and everything was freshly prepared with very generous portions. Since it’s cooked fresh, you’ll wait 30-45 minutes for an order.

We put our things in the fridge in the morning, but when we checked later, some were missing. There were also way too many mosquitos.

For a decent price, you can get a Chinese banquet and hotel experience that reminded my wife and me of the food and atmosphere we miss from when we lived in China. The restaurant is especially good for Chinese food, with better service than most restaurants in Zambia, period. The exterior doesn’t promise much, and there’s no pool or common area, but you can walk to many central places. It’s a very good fit for semi-budget travellers who want a nice room away from all the parties.

Rooms are spacious and clean, and the prices were reasonable. Wi-Fi kept cutting out during my stay, and sometimes I had to go down to the lobby to get a connection. The restaurant felt a bit cramped, though breakfast had a wider variety. Some of the waiters could use a little training, but with time they’ll get up to speed. Otherwise, the staff were generally polite and friendly.
