The location made it easy to enjoy a walking tour of the city. I had a problem with my room type reservation at Ahrusha backpakers hotel, and the very kind staff and owner helped me sort it out. I had a very good experience here.

Church Lodge was a comfortable stay for the money. I paid $27 for one night with breakfast, and it felt worth it. By Zambian standards, the quality was comfortable. My room matched the online photos, with a clean bathroom and a clean bed with a new mattress. Staff were professional and kind. The lodge is guarded around the clock, and they lock the gate at night for extra security. They still let guests back in, even after midnight. It's about a 15-minute walk to intercityBusStation. I also consider it a safe place for women traveling alone. If you're looking for a clean, nice lodge, I can fully recommend Church Lodge. I really enjoyed my stay.

I went in the evening on January 8, 2024, to ask about a room. The receptionist was rude, impolite, and had a bad attitude. I'm really disappointed. Because of that experience, I'd give the hotel zero stars. I think they should fire her, as she could make the hotel lose customers.

The rooms are clean, and it's a good place for either a short or long stay. The restaurant food is okay, it won't kill you. The receptionists, though, seem like they probably all went to public boarding schools.
