Ciêla Lusaka a Tribute Portfolio Resort and Spa

We stayed one night at Ciêla Lusaka, a Tribute Portfolio Resort and Spa, between a domestic and international flight. Leaving some buffer between those flights is wise, since domestic schedules can change. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the airport. We could easily have stayed longer. It's probably among the best hotel options in Lusaka, especially if you want to stay within the Marriott portfolio, though being outside the city center may be less convenient if you need to be downtown. The property is extensive, with spacious rooms, several restaurants, modern styling, and buildings spread across the grounds. There are a few minor finishing flaws, but we enjoyed the stay. Staff were very friendly. The large swimming pool sits in a beautiful garden, and the whole hotel is surrounded by a golf course. There's lots of greenery, though no wildlife. The spa has a wide choice of massages and other treatments, and I'd highly recommend it. Elements deserves a special mention. Dinner there was excellent, probably the best meal of our Zambia trip. Breakfast was extensive and delicious too. I'd definitely recommend Ciêla Lusaka for a stay in the city.

My first night got off to a bad start when the restaurant wasn't available to make me food, and I was pretty livid. After it had closed, Linda at reception brought me a Caesar salad and was really helpful. What made the stay enjoyable in the end was Chef Terrence. The appetizer was heavenly, then he made a dish that wasn't on the menu and got the flavors I liked just right without even asking me. It was so exquisite and carefully done. He gave me five-star treatment, and honestly, I would go back because he knows what he's doing.

The room is huge and comfortable, and the place is peaceful and quiet. Staff are friendly, and the food is great. The large shower head didn't work well, though, and the fridge never got cold.

It's a beautiful, peaceful location, and I had a comfortable stay. The food was on point, and the rooms are fresh and clean. Housekeeping could do a little extra, though: check the fridge and towels, then double-check them. I look forward to staying there again.
