The double room was spacious, with clean sheets and plenty of room to sit. The bar had cheap beer, and the table pool was nice. I think they deserve a higher average score, so I'm giving five stars, even though a few things bothered me. The shower was confusing to use, and the hot tap barely dripped, so we had to wash with cold water. It felt a bit sus that the lady showed us at check-in that the water worked, but then we couldn't get it going that evening. There's no laundry service, which is odd for a hostel. They recommended a nearby place, but it was expensive: 2 pieces cost the same as 1 kg at other hostels. The room information said early breakfast could be arranged if you had to leave early. I asked around 6 pm, and the lady said they could prepare takeaway that evening. Then a guy knocked at 1 a.m (!) while we were sleeping and brought two pieces of toast and 2 eggs for two people. It just wasn't worth the hassle.

The room was dark and dirty, and 2 of the 4 lights were broken. There was no wifi in the rooms, only by the pool. The toilet and kitchen were disgusting, and the bar was full of men. Gross!

It's a nice place with friendly staff and a handy location near the bus terminal. But the room was very basic for what it cost, and the price felt much too high.

I stayed here in 2016 during a 12-month trip across sevr African countries. For a hostel in Africa, the quality was good. I remember sitting in the bar while Africa by Toto played on the TV. Good times.

You may arrive and discover there are no rooms available, even though booking.com showed plenty. Then you're left carrying a big, heavy backpack in the dark while looking for somewhere else. They also can't provide mosquito nets in the dorm.
