The lounge was a comfortable spot to unwind with a soda or something else, and to chat with local people and other guests. Staff and management were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good. A few basic repairs in the rooms would help. Some light bulbs were missing, and the ceiling fan didn’t work. It wasn’t enough to spoil the stay, but it was disappointing.

The rooms were small and dirty, and there was no hot water. Service was pathetic, honestly. I also found cockroaches and mosquitoes, with no mosquito repellent available. They didn’t serve me breakfast, saying the chef was asleep.

Captain and Naomi were helpful managers, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We’d definitely book the venue again for conferences or classes. Our class ran for 8 days with about 25 people. Each morning the event room was set up for us, and tea and baked items were served twice a day. Lunch came with two entrees, was good, and was always on time. The venue suited our needs, and the outdoor spaces worked well for breakout sessions. Another organization was meeting there too, but both groups had plenty of room and weren’t interrupted. There was enough parking inside the wall fence, though larger groups would need to park on the street.

The road to the lodge is rough, with only a few smooth patches. Parking inside the centre enclosure is quite limited, so the alternative is outside along the road. The marquee is clean and can hold a decent-sized crowd. Seating is okay, the menu is fine, and the place works well for outdoor activities.
