Stay Simple Lodge

The fresh food and friendly, efficient service were lovely. The place itself is beautiful and still looks new, with a warm, welcoming feel. The greenery makes it feel homey.

Breakfast came with the stay and was tasty: coffee, eggs, toast, beans, and potatoes. Sal served with a smile. I had a lovely time at Stay Simple Lodge, and the room was clean and comfortable, with a fan, aircon, and hot shower.

The building still looks nice from outside, and the staff were understanding and accommodating, though some seemed to lack formal service training. When we complained that the room had not been cleaned, we were later told we should have left the keys at reception and let them know we wanted it cleaned. We had booked three nights, weren’t at the lodge during the day, and came back at night, but the room was never cleaned. The sheets were off-white and didn’t seem suitable for a lodge. In winter, we were given just one thin fleece and no blankets. When we asked for more, they brought another thin fleece. It seemed they didn’t have proper extra blankets available in the rooms or to provide. The dining area was a joke, just a small space, and breakfast was two slices of bread and a fried egg. The standards were a nightmare. Management really needs to improve.

The rooms are spacious and the stay was comfortable. As the name “Stay Simple” suggests, there isn’t much more to expect. If you’re a couple ordering room service, though, a slightly larger table would be useful.
