Jacaranda

I had a very good stay in this quiet place. The staff were friendly, the service was good, and the rooms were quite decent. The main drawback was the food: the choices were very limited and it wasn't that great.

Fari is very dedicated, and the staff were flexible and helpful. They told me about the construction upgrade underway, but I hardly noticed it. I spent two great days at Jacaranda Boutique Accommodation, in a lovely neighborhood with a beautiful, luxurious space and professional team. The price is reasonable for Zimbabwe, though the country is very expensive overall, including accommodation, food, and just about everything.

I'm sharing this for other Muslim travelers: Jacaranda is strictly halal, Muslim owned, and has no alcohol on the premises. Cafe de Paris is within walking distance, a strictly halal cafe that also serves full meals. Mosques are nearby too. The place and its surroundings are great.

I had a decent stay, but there’s plenty of room for improvement. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and the manager we booked with wasn't communicative. A housekeeper checked us in, which felt odd; I'd expect a proper receptionist. My room had peeling paint and the bar fridge smelled damp when I opened it. Breakfast choices were very limited too. To me, this feels more like a 3 to 4 star place than a boutique lodge. I hope the owners take the feedback on board and improve the guest experience.
