Each room looks out over a different stretch of Lake Kariba, and the open-air huts are built in the style of local traditional thach hut villages. The design kept the temperature and airflow nicely balanced. The beds were luxurious, and the enclosed outdoor shower was great, with a wood-fired hot water heater in each room. We found the stay really relaxing, even with the unexpected rain, and wished we’d booked a whole week. The staff knew their stuff, especially our excellent guide Methuli. After game drives, fishing, and learning about the environment, it was lovely to come back to comfortable accommodation and good catering. I’d recommend it to anyone after a unique bush experience.

A good fit for us since we weren’t after a high end safari stay. The rooms were more than comfortable, and the guides were knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Camp staff were well trained and efficient. We really enjoyed the quiet and solitude.

We stayed four nights and left happy with the choice. The huts were extremely comfortable, and waking up to the Kariba shore line from bed was hard to beat. We went for a walk with the highly intelligent guides and also saw the fossils. Fishing with Funnyboy was fun, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great facilities too. I’d recommend Rhino Safaris Camp if you want to get away from the city for a while.

Matusadona national park at Lake Kariba felt very untouched. We saw plenty of elephants, hippos, impalas, birds, and more, though no chumba or cheetah. The camp is cosy and comfortable, with lots of wood, good food, and polite people, without unnecessary luxury. Jenny and Karl are wonderfully friendly hosts, and the guides, especially Steven and Funnyboy, were just perfect. A real africa experience, and one of the best places I’ve ever been. Hopefully I can come back one day.

There’s so much to see, and the food is wonderful. The huts are comfortable and open air, the scenery is beautiful, and there are animals everywhere. The people are lovely too. I’d suggest staying at least two nights, or longer if you can. We had a wonderful holiday.
