Ascot Hotel

Subhjinder was especially helpful on our checkout day and sorted out several hassles smoothly. Most of the staff were polite and supportive too, though one receptionist was unexpectedly rude for reasons we couldn't understand. The room was comfortable enough, but fairly ordinary, and cleanliness could be better. Breakfast was good, especially the satisfying, well-prepared vegetarian options. It was an average stay, with decent food and helpful staff apart from that one unpleasant interaction. Room: 3/5. Food: 3/5. Service and hospitality: 4/5. Cleanliness: 3/5.

We stayed for five nights, from 08.01.2026 to 13.01.2026. Although our travel agents booked Ascot Hotel, we were given rooms at Royal Ascot, in the adjoining hotel. Front desk staff Mr. Sahil Rajput and Ms. Saima were helpful when we checked out. The rooms were spacious, with space for two beds, two tables, three chairs, a small dining table, ample table space, large drawers, two wardrobes, and an electronic locker. The bathroom had a bath tab and Western closets. Shampoo, liquid bath soap, a box of tissues, bath and hand towels, complimentary water bottles, and tea and coffee packets were provided. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was included, though the menu was almost the same every day, about 95% alike. Housekeeping was inconsistent. On one day the room was cleaned despite the “No Cleaning needed” door card being up, and on another it wasn't cleaned when the “Cleaning” card was displayed. The soap and shampoo dispensers weren't refilled even when nearly empty, the tissue box wasn't replaced when empty, and we weren't given dental, shaving, or emergency kits. The handwash soap provided on the first day wasn't replaced on the following days, and the bed linens weren't changed during our entire five-night stay. Parking in front of the hotel is very limited.

The staff were helpful, but the location and facilities fell short of what we expected from Dubai. There's little food nearby, and the hotel caters only to Indian culture, with only Indian food. Our rooms were dim, with windows that were hard to see out of and brought in no natural light. It was below expectations for us.

I couldn't post this on Booking.com because my booking was from early January and the review period had expired, but I still want to share what happened. I came to Dubai with my family in early January. I'd stayed here in 2021-2022 and had a great experience then, which is why I chose the hotel again. This time, though, one front office staff member spoiled the whole stay. His name was Faisal, if I'm remembering correctly, and he said he was from Kashmir. He was very unprofessional and had a lot of attitude. One day I called reception from my room to ask for drinking water. He said he'd send it, but after an hour nothing had arrived. I went down and found him sitting with a female staff member, playing some sort of paper game instead of working. I reminded him that I'd been waiting an hour. He casually said it would come and told me to go back upstairs. I stayed in the lobby and watched, but he didn't call or tell anyone. He just kept sitting with her. It seemed like neither of them cared about the guest. I don't remember the woman's name. She had short hair and seemed to be Arabic. They both seemed more interested in each other than doing their jobs. Reception should be focused on guests, and if staff want to joke around, they should do it somewhere else. Over several days I noticed that Faisal seemed polite only to female guests. This rude, biased, unprofessional behavior hurts the reputation of what was otherwise a good hotel. Very disappointing.
