Barceló Al Jaddaf, Dubai

Our first wedding anniversary celebration was meant to be happy, but the stay was completely ruined by the hotel experience. We booked a 36-hour stay, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and arrived at 9:00 AM. The receptionist insisted check-in was at 3:00 PM and said the hotel had no rooms for a 36-hour stay, that it depended on availability. I showed proof of our booking, but she wasn’t apologetic or welcoming about the hotel’s mistake. We waited almost two hours before getting a room. The card said dinner started at 6:30 PM, but the buffet only opened at 6:45 PM. There were lots of flies around the tables and food, and the water I poured from the jars had particles floating in it. Not appetizing. The same card said the pool opened at 8:00 AM, but it was closed when we went down. The receptionist insisted it opened at 9:00 AM, said he’d check and call us back, but never did. At 10:00 AM we found the sun beds and pool water very dirty. At checkout, nobody was at the valet and no one could find our car. We waited more than 10 minutes for it to arrive.

During my last three stays at Barceló Al Jaddaf Hotel, I ran into problems each time. The organization, communication and way guest concerns were handled fell well below expectations. Basic hospitality standards were missing, and instead of feeling comfortable, the experience was stressful. For a hotel with this reputation, the service doesn’t match what it promises. It points to ongoing problems with management and service standards. Mr. Ayas deserves sincere thanks, though. On all three stays, he went beyond his limits to help resolve issues and support us. His professionalism, dedication and genuine care for guests stood out. Without him, things would have been even worse. One dedicated staff member can’t make up for the overall poor experience, and management should take serious steps to improve operations and support people like Mr. Ayas. Other team members ruin it. The rooms and common areas were impeccably clean, and we were impressed by the food’s quality and variety, both during our stay and at the gala. Staff were attentive, professional, kind and proactive, helping create an elegant, welcoming and well-organized setting for our guests. We recently arranged accommodation and a gala at Barceló Al Jaddaf, Dubai, for 114 guests. Coordinating a group that size is no small task, but from the start and throughout the stay, the hotel team handled every detail efficiently, flexibly and with genuine care. We’re especially grateful to General Manager Ovidiu Marica. Their leadership, support and understanding made a real difference. They were available, open and willing to accommodate our needs, and both the stay and event ran smoothly and successfully. Excellence and guest satisfaction clearly matter here. On behalf of the group, thank you to the management and staff for your dedication and support. We look forward to working together again. Highly recommended for large group stays and special events.

The room was clean, comfortable and well kept, and we had a pleasant, relaxing stay. Staff were friendly, accommodating and ready to help with requests. Chandris especially deserves recognition, along with the rest of the staff. They were professional, attentive and willing to help, which made a real difference. We’d happily recommend the hotel to friends and family.
