Crown Park Hotel

The room had cockroaches and a filthy white rug, and housekeeping didn’t come for days despite calls to reception. When the shower broke, nobody fixed it for two days. We’d booked a double bed for two weeks, but arrived late at night to find them preparing a twin room and being told no double was available, despite the online confirmation. There’s no gym, despite the listing. They blamed the housekeeping failures on poor communication, but nothing was resolved during our stay. The service was the worst. Avoid this hotel.

I left while they were still trying to clean the room. The carpet, sheets, and pillows were all dirty, and the smell was so bad that the maintenance person sprayed Fabreze, which was mostly useless. With a club on the third floor, it’s a noisy hotel. It felt like a dirty place with strange people, not a hotel. The whole building needs tearing down and new management. Disgusting. Avoid it at all costs.

My partner and I stayed at Crown Park Hotel, Karama, Dubai, on December 5-6, 2025, after booking through Agoda. I travel often and have stayed in well over a hundred hotels, but this was the worst and most unsettling stay I can remember. The biggest concern was a serious security breach. After we were moved to a room on the third floor with a single full bed, a man who seemed to be maintenance staff entered without knocking or giving notice. He opened the locked door with a key card while we were settling in. We were later told we’d been put in a “staff room” because the hotel was reportedly full. The idea that staff can enter occupied rooms without monitoring is horrifying, and I was too anxious to sleep properly afterward. There were problems from the start. We had booked a single big bed on Agoda but were first given a twin room. The first room smelled, and the hotel reeked of silicone and paint from heavy maintenance. Ladders and tools were everywhere, making it feel like a construction site. The front desk staff said they were “new” and could barely communicate in English. They kept speaking Hindi to me, a Filipino woman, which was unprofessional and unhelpful. When we rushed to reception after the room entry, they dismissed our concern and told us to stay in the same room. The manager apologized and changed his tone only after a firm discussion. We were told parking would cost AED 30 and agreed, but the internal lot was a construction zone full of industrial vehicles with almost no guest spaces. We had to use and pay for RTA public parking outside. We checked in because an Agoda refund would take five working days and we needed somewhere to stay. The hotel should have disclosed the heavy renovation before booking. It failed on security, service, and room condition. I don’t consider it safe and would not book here.

I found the service very poor, far below an acceptable standard. Housekeeping never cleaned my room during my stay, even after I asked, and I wasn’t given clean towels, which was a major inconvenience. Staff response and service quality were very unsatisfactory. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless cleanliness and customer service improve seriously.
