Montrose Residence

I was very glad to leave Montrose A after a year. The building had many problems. Once, a person’s glass on her balcony smashed and fell from a height. My apartment was a disaster too. Whenever I turned on either bathroom tap in my two-bedroom apartment, black water came pouring out. I noticed it while brushing my teeth too, so I switched to bottled water. The AC was terrible and stopped working for weeks, but Deyaar still charged for it. Don’t get me started on Deyaar and how they rob their tenants. I’m still disputing AC charges that were billed double. The car park gate rarely worked, so security had to keep going in and out to open it. Those are only a few of the issues, but after a year I’d had enough and was happy to leave.

The apartments are spacious, and the security staff are super nice and helpful. The building is brand new, with some of the best two-bedroom apartments, low rents, and most two-bedroom units have a small maid’s room that can also be used for storage. There’s no small grocery store in the building, though. The nearest is a three-minute drive or ten-minute walk. The biggest problem is maintenance. For electrical, plumbing, or AC repairs, good luck getting anything done. Staff don’t show up unless you keep calling and following up after registering a complaint multiple times. Since it’s a new building, things need repair and servicing more often, so dealing with maintenance is stressful. There’s nonstop construction behind the building, day and night. You can hear a huge generator running outside the window even on floors above 10, since the glass isn’t soundproof. Light sleepers will struggle at night. There’s construction inside the building too, but that noise is only during the day. Those apartment sizes and helpful security staff are the only reasons I’m giving it two stars. I wouldn’t have rented here if I’d known about the construction noise and terrible staff.

I moved into a huge, organized three-bedroom apartment in montrose B in January, but the maintenance is so bad. There’s a very bad smell in the apartment, diyar doesn’t answer our calls, and the AC (chiller) is terrible, doesn’t work, and is expensive. Nobody can fix it. Not recommended at all.
