The metro is within walking distance, and getting to the main attractions is easy. Still, the way our arrival and upgrade were handled made for a disappointing first impression. I booked months ahead and paid considerably more than rates closer to the trip, after the Middle East situation had affected prices. Looking back, cancelling and choosing a better property may have given us better value. We had sent several messages about arriving late, but nothing seemed prepared when our delayed journey brought us in around 12:30 AM. We waited nearly half an hour while the front desk executive dealt with another guest. The upgrade was even more frustrating. I had email confirmations, including an automated hotel message confirming an Executive Suite, but the executive said there was no upgrade in the system. After I showed the emails and discussed it with several staff members, they eventually made an arrangement. The communication still felt unprofessional, as if they were doing me a favor instead of honoring a confirmed commitment. I wasn't properly told what room category I had actually been given. The guest experience and communication need considerable improvement.

The food was simple and tasty, just how we like it. I'd take 20 good dishes over 40 average ones any day. Tarun helped me book Deck 7 by the pool for an impromptu Eid break dinner, and our group of 30-plus, kids included, had a great time in and out of the pool. Big thanks to Chef Sandeep, Vikas, Kasam, Siddhi, and the poolside team for making the evening so special. Your hospitality rocks! 🙌🏼

Beatrix was so kind and kept smiling the whole time. The pool bar had a lively feel, and I really enjoyed the karaoke and music that night. The BBQ night was superb, with delicious food. Definitely try the brisket and banana bread. 10/10 experience.

The shuttle buses to JBR, Kite Beach, and Outlet Mall made getting around much easier and the trip more enjoyable. I really hope they expand that service, because it's a big advantage and a strong reason to choose Novotel again. Anas from security kept guests informed about the bus arrival and helped everyone in a friendly, professional way. Abraham was very nice and helpful too. I stayed for a week and found the room cleaning very good. The staff at check-in and in the restaurant were helpful and friendly, always ready to assist without making me feel uncomfortable. The hotel is close to the metro, which made transportation easy, and my stay was pleasant and comfortable overall. One thing that needs attention is the TV in the room. It's small, old, and not smart at all. Still, God willing, I'll visit again. This won't be my last stay.
