Novotel Dubai Gold District

The room was excellent, and we were lucky to have a beautiful ocean/harbour-facing view. The staff were so polite, professional, and well-mannered, and they even surprised us with a room upgrade. I had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the hospitality.

There was a good choice of food, and even though we arrived a little late, they let us take enough before closing. Thanks to Lily, she was excellent. The kitchen should double-check the dishes, though. Some cups still had coffee stains, maybe because they go through the dishwasher.

The breakfast service is very poor, and cleanliness and hygiene overall seem to get little attention. Staff appear to clean only what's visible so guests won't complain. I also think some staff from some nationalities need more training, especially on cleaning and hygiene standards. I've unfortunately started noticing this decline at many Dubai hotels, including this one. Pillows, blankets, and towels aren't cleaned properly. I've requested room makeup many times and been skipped; when they do clean, they keep forgetting to replace or refill room supplies, including towels, shampoo, body wash, and bed and pillow sheets.

Williams was especially friendly, polite, and helpful every time I needed anything. His positive attitude made a real difference to my experience. From arrival to departure, things were well organized and comfortable. My room was clean, spacious, and well maintained, which made it easy to relax. I appreciated the service from Novotel and was happy with my stay. I'd gladly recommend it and hope to return again soon.
