Pavilion Hotel Al Jaddaf

We had a canal view room with a balcony, and it was a lovely place to unwind for hours. The room was a good size, and breakfast was basic but freshly prepared. The staff were helpful and we had a pleasant stay. Thanks to manager Mr Harpreet and the team working 10jan to 11jan for making it a good experience. We’ll definitely be back.

The Nepalese gentleman from housekeeping was great, and Saleema was super friendly and helpful. Chewang also gave us a great room and top-tier service. He’s friendly, hardworking, and a real asset to the team. He deserves a promotion and good compensation for the level of service he provides. I really hope you don’t lose him.

For a reasonably priced stopover to break up our trip to Asia, this hotel worked well. It’s clean, tidy and bright, with comfortable, good-sized rooms and plenty of shelves and storage. Breakfast isn’t included, but the simple continental option is reasonably priced. The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming, which was especially nice after a long-haul flight. There’s a small gym and a lovely rooftop pool, though the hotel is dry and serves no alcohol. There’s a lot of construction around Al Jaddaf Waterfront at the moment, though it should be very nice when it’s finished. There are few or no restaurants near the hotel, so you’ll need to cross a bridge for about 10 minutes. You can walk to transit in 10 minutes, but, as elsewhere in Dubai, you’ll need taxis to get around the city. One thing I noticed: there were eight cameras just in reception and the breakfast area. They say it’s for our safety and security, of course. If you want a clean, no-fuss stopover and aren’t too concerned about the location, I can recommend it.

I’m really disappointed. This place was a billion times better when it was Citadines. The rooms are dirty, the towels are dirty, and there are barely any amenities now, even though the rooms used to be fully equipped. They still have the old hotel name on the towels, and the room had insects, a broken fridge and an AC that makes a terrible noise. They’ve stopped offering valet parking, too. I arrived at night and tried to self-park, but security said the parking was full and told me to park elsewhere. I ended up in paid parking and had to walk 20 minutes back to the hotel. When I asked staff what had happened, all they said was that the new management had given these orders.
