The stay at 1703 BLVD Central, Downtown Dubai, managed by Silkhaus, was among the worst accommodation experiences I’ve had. The apartment was unsafe, unhygienic, misleading, and unfit for people to stay in. The kitchenette was extremely small, with electrical appliances crammed together in a way that looked like an obvious electrical and fire hazard. The coffee machine had filthy water and visible particles inside, so it wasn’t safe to use. There was also black mold on the bathroom surfaces and growing on the toilet door, as well as on the refrigerator door where food is stored. This showed no regard for guest health. I consider it a serious health hazard and a violation of Dubai Municipality health regulations. Fire safety was alarming too. The extinguisher appeared uninspected and previously used, and its safety strap was broken. Guests would have no protection in a fire. I consider this a direct violation of Dubai Civil Defence regulations, and renting the apartment in this state was dangerous and irresponsible. The old, rusty washing machine didn’t work at all. Silkhaus first blamed me and said I didn’t know how to use it. After I kept complaining, they sent a technician who confirmed it was faulty. That response was dishonest and insulting. The ironing board was broken as well, making ironing unsafe and impractical. The listing photos were grossly misleading and looked very different from the apartment’s actual condition. I consider that false advertising. I filed official violation claims with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, and Airbnb. In my view, this property shouldn’t be rented or listed until it’s fully fixed and brought into legal compliance. I strongly warn anyone considering this apartment or any Silkhaus-managed property not to stay. The health, safety, and money at risk aren’t worth it. Silkhaus showed no professionalism, accountability, or basic standards.
