I made use of the little gym on the top floor every day and really enjoyed it. My room was comfortable, cleaned daily and restocked with fresh towels and bottled water, and room service was dependable throughout. The hotel is in a perfect location and the service was outstanding. Thanks to Ehsan and his colleagues for all their help during my stay.

Because my three-night booking at Studio M Barsha Hotel was non-refundable, I had no choice but to stay, though I wouldn't recommend the hotel. The parking problem followed me the whole time: I was asked to pay again each time I re-entered, even though I'd already paid. Breakfast also wasn't worth the price. There were very few protein options, mainly eggs, and most of the food was carbohydrates, so it wasn't satisfying. The room situation was especially bad because I'd clearly requested a clean, non-smoking room due to my dust allergy. Instead, it smelled strongly of dust and mold and had visible dust buildup. After I complained, one staff member was professional, apologized and offered alternatives. One still had mold, and the other was dusty, so I had to accept that one. Extra cleaning didn't improve things, and throat irritation from the dust meant I slept with a face mask. Even arrival set a poor tone. I was told to pay for parking right away and someone brought a card machine to me before I'd even gotten out of my car, despite my saying I'd settle it at check-in. At check-in, there was no greeting or acknowledgment, just a silent interaction while the receptionist stayed on the phone. That falls well short of basic hospitality in Dubai. There are much better options in Dubai for service, cleanliness and basic hospitality.

The rooms were smaller than we expected, but it didn't matter much because we had a great week. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, and the staff were very friendly. Room service was neat, and the receptionist handled our requests right away. It has a family-friendly feel, and it's near the metro station and the emirates mall, with really good local restaurants around it. We especially enjoyed the delicious dishes at “student biryani”. The terrace looks out over the swimming pool. Thanks to the Studio M Barsha team for the service and the sweet New Year's Eve gesture.
