Three 888 Hotel

My brother and I had generally been happy during our two months at this property, so the reception encounter on our final day was a real letdown. We saw that the online room rate was much lower that day and politely asked whether they could match or consider it. The receptionist answered rudely and unprofessionally, telling us to “use your brain” and asking if we were “crazy.” When we respectfully asked her not to use those words, she brushed us off with “kaliwali,” implying she didn’t care. We left feeling disrespected and treated unfairly after being long-term guests. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses it. Guests should be spoken to respectfully, especially after an extended stay, and professional communication is essential in hospitality.

We only lasted two nights, which was more than enough. The hallway was noisy all night, with people shouting and talking and kids making noise, so getting sleep was nearly impossible. And cockroaches were walking around the room and bathroom as if that were normal 🪳. We arrived around 9:30 PM and were given a very dirty room beside the garbage. When we asked to move, the next room was worse, with a dirty, used bedsheet and a door leading into another room. They said those were the only options, but later gave other people different rooms, so apparently more rooms were available. The next room they showed us was still unclean, though better than the others. It had no carpets, an old dirty bathroom, and a shower that barely worked. I’d stayed here before and had a good, clean room, but this time was a mess. For what they charge, it isn’t worth it. The pictures on Booking platforms don’t show the reality of the hotel, and it wasn’t even like the place I experienced last year. I’ll never choose it again. Run from this hotel if you can.

The rooms are comfortable, and the prices are very reasonable for Dubai. Three 888 Hotel also has a pleasant atmosphere and good lift facilities. For business travelers, it’s handy to buy materials at nearby markets and store them safely in your room. Transport support is good too, with an evening airport shuttle and pickup and drop-off available at any time at night, useful if you have a late flight.

Even a one-star hotel can manage basic courtesies, like replacing a pair of slippers when one breaks. The receptionist said this is only a two-star hotel, but that doesn’t make the lack of such simple hospitality any less disappointing. My issue is really with the staff. They seem to lack proper hospitality training, and that reflects badly on management. Even a one-star hotel could provide better service and hospitality.
