Hawksbill Resort Antigua

This is a very economical all-inclusive beach resort with a relaxed atmosphere and few crowds. For the price, it is hard to find another all-inclusive place right on the beach. The water and beach are beautiful, and snorkeling was good straight from shore. Our Royal Palm room had loungers outside, so we could spend the day there, walk into the water, and snorkel without water shoes despite the rocks. I also did not get a single insect bite. The room had a few problems, service was adequate rather than resort-level, and very few staff seemed eager to be there. The food was okay but not great. Still, you get what you pay for, and we had a good experience for the price.

My Royal Palm Beach front room was stunning, with its own terrace and sunbed right on the beach and the ocean constantly in the background. I spent 11 nights there and felt completely rejuvenated, watching sunset after sunset in a place that was idyllic, rustic, and unpretentious. I usually don't return to resorts, but I want to come back here as soon as possible. PD's grill became my regular choice for a late lunch or early dinner because the staff were so lovely and welcoming. A few staff members can seem rude, as other reviewers mentioned, but they still provide good service, even without a smile. Honestly, I don't think I'd smile while serving holiday makers in the heat day after day either. For a 3 star resort, this is an amazing place.

Our 30th anniversary dinner at Sea Grapes at Hawksbill Resort was made special by the beachfront setting, soft lighting, music, and the waves just steps away. The six course meal was excellent. We especially loved the crisp, well-seasoned seafood cakes, the juicy lamb chops, and the fresh, expertly prepared tuna. Every plate was thoughtful and beautifully presented. Shilah, our hostess supervisor, and Aquila, our server, added so much to the evening. Aquila was warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making the anniversary feel extraordinary. Her kindness, timing, and attention to detail mattered. Sea Grapes gave us a romantic and delicious night that we will treasure forever.

I would strongly suggest spending your money at another resort. During our six-day stay, housekeeping skipped our room for two days, the rooms felt outdated, physical keys were still used, and the safe did not seem secure enough for my belongings. Management was never visible or engaged with guests. Meals were extremely disorganized. There was often nobody seating guests, lines became long, food regularly ran out, and even water and coffee were difficult to get. I sometimes had to find a dispenser to refill my glass. When we raised an issue with an unpleasant female staff member, the response was only “okay.” Entertainment was poor too, and the fire show began an hour before the posted time, so many guests missed it. There was very little else to do.
