Lord Nelson Hotel & Residences

The cottages are only a few yards from the beach, in a quiet, safe area with no traffic problems, and the airport is just five minutes away. Lord Nelson's feels like a real escape from the crowded areas near the city. The rooms are huge and fully equipped, the beds are VERY comfortable, and the multi-bedroom cottages give everyone plenty of privacy. Someone can make breakfast in the kitchen without disturbing anyone sleeping. There are two restaurants within walking distance, but the kitchens, washer/dryer, and front porches make preparing your own meals a better value, especially since restaurants on the island are expensive, even when mediocre. Neil went out of his way to welcome us after hours and get everything ready, and the owner clearly works hard to keep guests happy. The prices are very reasonable for the space and privacy, though I selected mid-range and would have preferred Budget. I travel constantly for work and found this recently renovated hotel/condo property a welcome change from other Antigua hotels where basic issues like hot water and internet were never fixed. Highly recommended.
