Eko Cozy Guest House

For the entire month we stayed, we felt respected and received excellent service. Prince and Miss Jacobs kept the guesthouse spotlessly clean, and the residential neighborhood felt safe and friendly. We had no problems walking around, day or night. Prince went far beyond what you'd expect from budget accommodation to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. We even saw how upset and frustrated he became while repeatedly chasing a repair for a guest's faulty aircon. Their care and hospitality turned them into friends, and we would have no hesitation staying here again in Antigua. Thank You!!!!!! When I arrived, the owner said the card I had used at booking would be refunded and that he needed to charge another card at a higher rate. Since it was already evening and I had nowhere else to go, I felt I had very few choices. I managed to negotiate the new amount down a little, but still paid about 40% more than the original price. I believe this owner uses misleading practices to make extra money. I paid when I booked, and I've since seen many other reviewers describe similar situations. Because of that, I suspect this may be a scam he is running.

The best part of staying at Eko Cozy Guest House was how much it felt like being with an extended family. We made lots of wonderful friends, and anything we needed was taken care of. The low price also left us money for many other things, and we absolutely loved the experience. This was from November 2022, We just stayed here for a month (2024). I didn't post this properly last time. The owner, Prince, took amazing care of us. My wife said the shared kitchen and meeting guests from around the world reminded her of staying in youth hostels in Europe. We will definitely return.

This was one of the most unexpected and untruthful accommodation experiences I've had. I thought I was booking a little kozy place for myself, but the listing never made clear that it was shared accommodation. The property has three locks at the entrance, which must be closed behind you at all times, plus cameras around it 365 days a year. Security is very effective in that sense. Inside were two rooms, one kitchen, and an office. The office also seemed to be the reception area, and the building was not private at all. In my room, the toilet and shower shared such a tiny space that I could have showered while sitting on the toilet. That wasn't shown in the advert either, and I felt robbed. I asked for a refund because the place was nothing like the listing and was the opposite of the private space I wanted. It's an air bnb with coffee equipment but not even two coffee supplies. You have to pay to watch TV. Plates and glasses are provided, but there is no cleaning soap for them. I regret the booking. It isn't romantic at all, so couples should think twice. For me, it was a catastrophic experience. I hope others have a better stay than I did.
