This friendly, welcoming bar sits right on the beach, looking out over a peaceful stretch of sea. It’s quite small, with only a handful of bar seats and a few tables elsewhere. Food wasn’t available when I visited, but the beers were cold and reasonably priced for the setting. It’s an absolute hidden gem. I’ll be back next time I’m on the island.

The Ferryboat Inn had such an easygoing feel, and the prices were a real surprise. We paid $3.00 for a coke there, compared with $7.00 elsewhere for the same thing, so it’s worth being careful about where you order. For wing night on Wednesday, my husband chose the wings while I had the French Onion Soup and fries, and everything was delicious. The staff were friendly too, and we’ll definitely return.

St. Martin looked gorgeous from the restaurant, and that view was easily the best part. We went for lunch on Wednesday, when they warned us the menu was limited because of the big “wing night.” Even with only two tables occupied, our fried fish burgers took nearly an hour to arrive. They were piping hot, but the buns were burnt, the fries lukewarm, and the “steamed” vegetables cold. We won’t be going back.

This trip finally brought us back to FBI, and we ended up visiting twice. The atmosphere is nicely laid-back, and the food was great both times. I had the fish sandwich on our first visit with my wife’s calaloo soup, then tried the FBI burger the next time. I’d recommend any of those.
