The terrace breakfast was one of the best parts of our four-night stay at Anhel hotel. The homemade food was lovely, and the views toward the castle and historic centre were gorgeous. Our deluxe double room was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, and had good air conditioning and WiFi, along with a beautiful view over the river toward the castle and Mangalen. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We’d seen comments about noise and access, but neither caused us a problem. Bringing bags up from the carpark is a bit of a trek, though it’s manageable. We parked at camping veno for 4 euro a night, and the walk from there was uphill but had no stairs.

The breakfast was delicious, served right after we sat down, and the view while eating was breathtaking. The people running the hotel are also its owners, and they were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and kind. If you want to enjoy your stay in Berat rather than choose a luxury hotel, I’d recommend spending at least one night here.

This is a great choice if you want to get away from traditional chain hotels. The setting and view are exquisite, while the breakfast is authentic and very well prepared. A really good selection.

The view from our room at Hotel Hanel was stunning, especially at sunset, with the city and surrounding mountains spread out below. It made the room feel very peaceful. The room itself was spotless, beautifully designed, comfortable, and well maintained, with a very cozy bed. Breakfast came with plenty of fresh local products, and the homemade cheese and jam were particular favorites. The staff were kind, professional, and always willing to help with local information or anything else I needed. I’d happily return on my next trip to Berat.
