Apartment Donend

A cute little apartment with all the essentials for a backpacker, including a comfy bed, balcony, kitchenette, and, most importantly, an amazing view of Berat. The restaurant food is delicious, and the espresso is great too. The host is usually around if you need help. I had a great time learning Albanian with Endi and Adenis :)

Very cute place and good value for money. It has everything a backpacker needs, from a comfy bed and pleasant balcony to hot water and air conditioning. The small kitchenette includes a fridge and little stove, but there’s no microwave. The rooms were very clean and the service was good. I’d happily stay here again.

The location is excellent for reaching the main historic areas on foot. The room and sheets were clean, and the owner was friendly and smiling even though he doesn’t speak English. Guests can use a small shared kitchen and fridge. Noise is the main drawback, since the windows barely block anything. The bar downstairs plays loud music, though not at night. Our balcony looked onto an ugly, dirty roof, with the mountains only visible farther behind.

The friendly and attentive host, Endi, was a real highlight, along with the apartment’s perfect location. He always answered our messages right away, and after noticing that we made coffee every day, he brought us a small espresso maker. One suggestion for winter would be to add an extra electric heater in the rooms, as a few more degrees would make them feel cosier. We stayed for five nights and highly recommend it.
