Hotel Borklad

Every detail at Hotel Borklad seemed well looked after. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely designed, while the staff gave us warm, professional service throughout. Breakfast was delicious each morning, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I’d highly recommend it for a high-quality stay.

This is a straightforward two- or three-star hotel with helpful staff and comfortable enough rooms. Daily room cleaning costs extra, so keep that in mind. Breakfast is the same simple plate every day, with cooked eggs, bread, fig jam, butter, cheese, juice, coffee, and tea, and they don’t ask how you want the eggs prepared. The hotel is central but tucked behind the main street, which made it slightly hard to find. Cars can’t park nearby, although there’s a car park about a 10-minute walk away for €5 per 24 hours. The promenade, modern restaurants, and bars are only a few minutes away, and it’s good for watching locals during their evening walks. You can walk up to the castle too, but the cobbles are steep and may be slippery when wet. A supermarket nearby is useful for water and snacks.

Gert made our stay at Hotel Borklad especially memorable. He arranged cabs, found us a great guide, and recommended an excellent wine tasting, always with genuine warmth and attention. The fresh breakfast came with a beautiful view, and the uniquely designed rooms were comfortable and very well maintained. Renovation work was happening, but it was handled so professionally that we barely noticed. We chose the hotel for its reasonable price and ended up feeling it was completely worth it. It’s a cozy place that combines good value, comfort, and wonderful hospitality. 10/10, we’d recommend it.
