Hotel Gorica

The location gives you a quieter base just away from the main bustle, while still putting you beside a small group of restaurants and bars and within easy walking distance of many more. The hostess was very welcoming, friendly, and happy to share local tips. Our room was clean, comfortable, well air-conditioned, and had a balcony with a stunning view. The authentic hotel building was beautiful, and the restaurant was lovely too, with hotel guests receiving 10% off. Parking was easy, with plenty of inexpensive options nearby.

We booked only two hours before check-in after cancelling our original hotel because it was too far from the city center. The lady who welcomed us was lovely, and the cozy room had a stunning view. Breakfast was tasty and filling. The place is in the UNESCO quarter, and I’d absolutely come back, 10000%.

The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean, while the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enormous for the room price, with bread, eggs, jam, cheese, meat, pastries, fruit, orange juice, water, and coffee, so we were completely full. Finding the hotel took some effort because it’s down a side street, but staff at the restaurant with the same name, balcony gorices, walked us up. The free parking is at that restaurant too. We loved our one-night stay, and Berat is beautiful.

The owners were lovely, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel is very central in Berat, and I’d stay there again. One detail in the advert was misleading, though: it promised a mountain and lake view, but because of the building’s shape we could see only the roof.
