Master Hotel Berat

We arrived in Berat without a booking because parking a hire car can be difficult, but this place had reserved spaces right outside. If necessary, they will even move a car to make room. The location is perfect for exploring, and he speaks fluent English. He also carried our cases, which was much appreciated. Our room was large, with a small table and chairs, air conditioning that heated and cooled well, and a private bathroom. There is no lift, though the rooms are on the first floor with only a few stairs. As a UNESCO building, it has especially charming decor. The highlight was breakfast on the front balcony overlooking the “1000 windows”. It included runny-yolk fried eggs, Wuny sausage, bread, cheese, wonderful tomatoes and cucumber, byrek, very fresh fruit, tea, and coffee. You could request other things too. The attention to detail was outstanding, from bringing us an extra duvet to offering to arrange a taxi to the castle. I travel a lot and loved this place, and I only wished we could have stayed longer.

This family-run hotel has cozy rooms with pretty woodwork, and the traditional breakfast was tasty and different on each of my two mornings. After I contacted them on WhatsApp, they kindly kept a parking space directly in front of the hotel for me. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality ❤️

The hosts were generous and nothing seemed too much trouble during our three-night stay. We had good breakfasts, reliable wifi, air conditioning, and parking right outside. The hotel is centrally placed, close to the old castle, old town, and the newer parts of central Berat. We had a wonderful stay and strongly recommend it.

The rooms were quiet and cool, with an impeccable wooden interior set behind attractive limestone walls. Aurelio was an exceptionally gracious and informative host, and we enjoyed talking with him. His father spent 12 years building the hotel. Breakfast on the terrace gave us views up toward the castle and down over the city square. The location was perfect too.
