Even though we stayed only one night, this was the best accommodation we came across during our journey through the Balkan region. The host family was very friendly and helpful, and I can’t recommend better rooms in Berat. Be sure to ask them about the local and Albanian secrets to visit.

Vila Ajdinaj feels warm, authentic, and genuinely family-run, with the kind of kindness that makes guests feel at home. The rooms are spotless, the breakfasts are homemade, and the historic center is only a short walk away while the property itself remains peaceful. Ranked #1 by Love Albania, it captures the heart of Albanian hospitality. It’s a good fit for travelers looking for comfort, real connection, and a stay that feels like coming home.

At check in, the brilliant hosts brought us some local cuisine and explained its origin. Breakfast was excellent, with bread, pastry, jams, and fruit served at whatever time we asked. There’s on-site parking behind a private gate, and the main road with bars and restaurants is about a 10/15 minute walk away. We couldn’t fault this accommodation at all.

The family were charming, and their daughter speaks fluent English. We received a pleasant welcome with drinks for the children and alcohol for the adults. The place smelled of figs, the rooms were very clean, and breakfast was great. This place is highly recommended.
