Albanian Star Hotel

Hussien was particularly helpful and kind, always ready to assist whenever we needed something. His hospitality made our holiday even more enjoyable. The rest of the team were also incredibly welcoming, and our room was clean and comfortable throughout the stay. My friend and I had a fantastic experience at the Albania Star Hotel in Durrës, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

The hotel is in a great spot, around 20 minutes from the city center, so it offers a pleasant mix of convenience and quiet. It’s easy to find, close to the beach, and has a beautiful sea view. The price was very affordable, and we especially appreciated being given a late checkout without an extra charge. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and the meals were very good. We had a fantastic stay at Albania Star Hotel and I’d definitely return if I’m in Albania again.

The hotel is very beautiful and the view is amazing, but the restaurant service needs improvement. I tried to order and pay for food, yet nobody assisted me properly. Even after asking for help, I waited over 30 minutes for a simple pasta, which felt far too long. The hotel itself is very nice, so I hope the service can be improved.

The view was the only positive part of this stay. The room was filthy, with miserable towels and bed sheets, hair left on the sheets, and a toilet that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. Most concerning were the blood stains on the bed sheets. That raised the possibility of sexually transmitted infections and made me wonder whether the sheets had been changed at all before we arrived. Sleeping in a bed with visible stains from previous guests was completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Around 3 AM, extremely loud sounds started coming from above. They seemed to be from a laundry room or heavy machines running continuously, so sleeping became impossible. Everything apart from the view was disgusting and disappointing. I would never recommend this place.
