The pool was beautiful and easily the highlight of the property, but it was far too cold to use and definitely wasn’t heated. The surroundings themselves were stunning, peaceful, and gave us a genuinely authentic Albanian experience. Food was mostly good. We tried nearly the entire menu, and everything else was genuinely delicious, although the lamb was a little dry for my taste. Some meat wasn’t in season, so we couldn’t order it, which was fair enough. I’m used to having sauce with meals, and there wasn’t any here, but that’s personal preference rather than a quality issue. The service was less impressive. Staff kept to themselves, and we sometimes had to walk around looking for someone. There were no activities for guests, and five days felt too long without a car to explore. Our room was cleaned only twice, both times after we asked. With a baby and diapers, cleaning was necessary. We also requested baby meals at certain times, but staff forgot or couldn’t prepare them, so we had to wait. Communication between staff was clearly poor, luckily we had backup food for our son. Come for the views and quiet, not the service. Even so, it’s worth trying for the experience.

The food at Hotel Bujtina Ajazi was a real highlight. Every meal was excellent, made entirely on-site from very fresh products, and even the morning bread was fragrant and homemade. It’s easily one of the best places to try authentic traditional Albanian cuisine. We stayed with our family, two adults and two children, and the peaceful surroundings made it a wonderful break from the areas around Tirana. The guesthouse has a charming atmosphere, picturesque scenery, and beautifully designed interiors with careful attention to detail. The family-like welcome came from the wonderful people there. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the owner is clearly passionate about the place and knows how to charm his guests. The high-level service made the stay memorable, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for genuine Albanian hospitality. People allergic to bees should be aware that there are quite a lot of them around the olive trees. Meals can be eaten indoors in air conditioning, and the waiters put smoking coils outside to help repel them.

The hostel was wonderfully quiet and peaceful during our one-night stay. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the delicious traditional food, and you could confidently order anything from the menu. The staff were super professional and welcoming, which made the visit even better.

Being completely surrounded by nature, several kilometers from Durrës and away from other buildings, gives this place a relaxing atmosphere. I also liked the interior. The service was okay but could have been better. The food was edible, though not as distinctive as I expected. It was similar to what you find at about 80% of agro-tourism places and farm restaurants, and it didn’t taste as organic as it should have. Because of the difficult terrain and the unremarkable food, I wouldn’t come back. The investment could be improved, especially in the kitchen.
