Garden Palace

The food was excellent, and the reception and serving staff were otherwise very good during our four-night stay. That made what happened with our room even more disappointing. In the morning, we arrived with our children and found someone already inside, possibly the manager or another knowledgeable person. When the hotel staff opened the door for us, the person shouted, "Do not open my door," because they were on a phone call. We still had to wait for more than an hour, despite having the children with us. There also seems to be a mosquito problem in the area, and my child was badly bitten. It’s a shame that this incident damaged the reputation of an otherwise excellent team.

The pool area is especially pleasant, with attractive plants around the beautiful swimming pool. The hotel is also in a great spot, only 150 meters from the beach and close to restaurants and beach bars. The staff were exceptional and treated guests and one another like family, which made the atmosphere warm and personal. Breakfast had a good range too, including cooked and fried eggs, white bread, a type of French toast, fresh fruit and vegetables, yogurt, honey, jam, cheese, and sausage. I highly recommend the hotel and am already planning to return.

The rooms varied from acceptable to poor. Stained bedding and towels were common, fresh towels weren’t supplied every day, and the bathroom had no shower glass, so water spread everywhere and flooded the floor. The toilet often wouldn’t flush, the air conditioning kept switching off and on, and ants were visible on the unclean floor. Internet access was extremely poor, even in the room and around the pool. The pool area was crowded with loungers, and the pool itself wasn’t properly clean or maintained. The nearby toilets smelled unbearable, and both the toilets and pool shower were out of order. At the beach, the bar had no snacks or lunch, so we had to walk back to the hotel. Its waiter seemed clueless and kind of challenged. The beach bar toilets were awful, with gaps you could literally see through and a terrible smell. The buffet had plenty of salad choices, but the main dishes were limited and repetitive. More bread options, such as gluten-free bread, would have been welcome. Plates were not always washed properly, and although the waitresses were pleasant when spoken to, they seemed forced rather than motivated. The boronice was really delicious, but the other drinks were fake, fruit was rarely served, and the food selection was limited. We booked All Inclusive for five people, yet drinks cost extra after 10 pm. On our final day, the manager knew we were leaving earlier and told us the evening before that breakfast, lunch, and dinner were paid for the next day. After checkout, reception said all of those meals and drinks would now cost extra, even though we had already paid for the full day. We decided to leave the experience behind. We do thank the manager of the kitchenteam, who worked hard to make our visit as enjoyable as possible.

The garden and pool were beautiful, and the view was magnificent. I also really enjoyed the food and looked forward to dinner every night. Our room was modern, with a large bathroom, and the hotel itself was very pretty. Most of all, the staff were exceptional, kind, and welcoming. 10/10, I’d recommend it.
