Mare Bed & Breakfast Hotel

The couple running the hotel were warm and very friendly, and the clean rooms had working air conditioning. We stayed on the road-facing side rather than getting a sea-view room, but it was fine and we had nothing to complain about. The private beach, terrace, and sunset were great, especially while sitting outside with wine. Breakfast isn't free, though there are plenty of choices nearby. The cafe next door serves a decent breakfast. We had a great experience and would recommend it.

We stayed in the room for four, traveling as a group of four, and the balcony views were amazing. The hotel has direct access to a private beach separated from the main beach by a large rock, and it is probably the best affordable beach hotel with an amazing sea view that you'll find in Albania. The owner was the highlight. She welcomed us even though the hotel was still closed for several more days because the season had only just begun, and she kindly recommended places to eat around the city. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Albania. Top recommendation.

Our supposed mountain view was actually a construction site, and the stairs to all the rooms run right beside the balcony, so people can see into the room. The bathroom was tiny, rusty, and in poor condition. There were also many mosquitoes inside even though we never opened the balcony door. The photos don't match reality. Breakfast was poor as well, consisting only of a small bottle of water, an apple, a cereal bar, and a very small croissant.

I still miss this place. For 30€, we had a private room with a balcony facing the beach, or 25€ for one toward the back or street. The room internet was very fast, though the lobby downstairs was slower. At that price, it was the best room we had during our whole month in Albania, and the view was amazing.
