Captain's Residence

The owner was accommodating when we asked for a microwave, and the cleaning service was great. The apartment also had a washing machine, though we had to buy detergent, and a drying rack on the balcony. Coming from the US, bring plenty of bottled water. I had stomach problems for the first 5-7 days of our three-week vacation. We rented the apartment for three adults and three children, but it didn’t meet our needs. We wanted a living room for the kids, a larger kitchen, and a dining area with room for all of us. Instead, one adult or child had to sleep in the living room, where bathroom visits kept waking them. The beds were very uncomfortable, and the AC blew directly on us while we slept. We all eventually got sick. The elevator stops between floors, so you have to use stairs to reach the unit, including from the ground floor. The kitchen was poorly stocked, the shower was tiny, and there was no shampoo or body wash. The TV wasn’t smart, so phone logins for Prime or Netflix weren’t possible, and mirroring didn’t work either. Free WiFi only worked in the living room, and even there the signal dropped every three minutes after 10 pm. We came in September to avoid the summer crowds, but found ourselves paying top rates for mediocre accommodation and food that wasn’t great. The location might suit singles or couples, but it didn’t work for our family. Beach loungers often cost 20€ for two, and we needed three sets, adding up to 60€ a day. We were hoping for an authentic beachside atmosphere and good local food, but found a superficial town centre, dirty beaches, and expensive food. It felt like everything was geared toward spending money rather than enjoying the beach. We eventually found a beach we liked an hour away. Smoking was allowed everywhere, and people smoked everywhere, including on the beach and in restaurants. I also wasn’t prepared for the very loud music along the beachfront. Instead of the sound of the sea, we heard Albanian pop music. Do your research and ask specific questions about what kind of experience you want. A word like “nice” can mean different things.

I had a wonderful stay at Captain Residence in Ksamil. The apartment was spotless, nicely furnished, and had everything I needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. Everything felt fresh and well cared for. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help. The ground floor made everyday errands easy, with a supermarket, a lovely café, juice bars, and other shops right in the building. The area felt safe and peaceful, and the place seemed well suited to both short visits and longer stays. I’d gladly return and recommend Captain Residence to anyone visiting Ksamil.

We had a wonderful family stay at Captain’s Residence, and it felt like a home away from home. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and looked brand new. The facilities had everything we needed and more. Rooms were cleaned every two days, and beach towels, sunbeds, and umbrellas were available onsite. It’s a family-run business that has been open about five years, and you can feel the personal touch. The staff were warm and helpful, and Aleksja deserves special thanks for going above and beyond. We arrived very late after flying into Corfu and taking the ferry to Albania. Once we let them know, they made sure someone was there to greet us. The location is great, around a 10-15 minute walk to the main Ksamil beach strip and five minutes from another beach. There’s also a large supermarket for essentials, a pizzeria, money exchange, and even a barber shop onsite. We appreciated their tips on places to visit with our children, as well as their help arranging taxis and excursions. There are plenty of food and dessert options nearby, and the atmosphere is welcoming and family friendly. We’ll definitely stay again on a future trip to Albania. It was truly perfect.

The apartment was clean, roomy, and nicely decorated, with all the amenities I needed. It was close to everything, yet quiet at night. From the moment we arrived, the place felt welcoming, and the team seemed to genuinely care about guests' comfort. We felt right at home as a family, and every request was handled with kindness. The service was exceptional. You and your husband have clearly put a lot of heart into managing such a big, beautiful project, and you deserve a lot of respect for it. Our family left happy and well-rested. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a relaxing, memorable stay. It went beyond my expectations, and I’d happily return.
