We came in the off-season, so I guess that’s why the swimming pool was so cold. Apart from that, everything was good. A clean and neat place near ksamil beach, with good rooms and facilities.

The room itself was good, with an amazing sunset view from the balcony, and the pool was nice to come back to after the beach. The owner and some staff were friendly and helpful in the days after the problems. Breakfast was reasonable in portion size, but didn’t offer much variety. Some food seemed like leftovers from the day before, especially the bread, croissants and eggs. The worst part was check-in and the next day. I was told I had to pay cash or add a €15 surcharge to use my card. That didn’t seem like a reasonable business practice. Our room was meant for three, but had only one bed. Reception said there was a room problem, so we were asked to sleep three in one bed. After we complained, they brought in an extra bed. The next day we were told to move to the next-door room and bring all our things down two floors to reception. After a day at the beach, I had to carry most of my things back upstairs, with only minor help from staff. The owner apologized, but there was no refund or compensation for the hotel’s mistake. I’m not sure I’d stay again. I’d look for other reviews or see whether service has improved in the coming years. For the hotel, a few things could improve. Make check-in stress-free by covering card charges in the price instead of passing them to guests, since that gives a bad impression. If guests need to change rooms, have staff move their things or let them do it without carrying everything downstairs and back up. A toaster would make breakfast better, and fresher food would improve the taste.

The buffet breakfast was nice, and we enjoyed the pool area. Rooms and poolside spaces were very clean. We had a great time at this lovely hotel, with friendly, welcoming staff. I’d recommend it.

We had a nice swimming pool, clean and comfortable rooms, and very good service. The owners were so kind and welcoming that it’s a shame we didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. We couldn’t have asked for better service 👍

We stayed in June at SUNSHINE HOTEL- KSAMIL. There’s a quiet, local feel around the hotel, with residents nearby and two handy shops close by. It’s about a 10 minute walk downhill to the beach, and the views over Ksamil are great, though from our first-floor room it was hard to see the sea. The pool is nice for cooling off or having a lounge-around day, stays open until 10 or 11pm, and has a calm vibe with music during the day. The area was exceptionally clean, the hanging egg chairs were comfy, and the foyer outside was quaintly lit at night. The shower was excellent. We also got two free drinks for the road when we left. Cristina and Armando were friendly, and Armando quickly helped when the balcony handle came off. There were several problems in the room: the bathroom wasn’t fully clean on arrival, the sink was blocked, ants were all over the floor, the balcony gauze had a tear, and the AC box was very noisy and needs refurbishing. The bed was so uncomfortable my back hurt every morning. There’s no lift, so getting baggage to the fourth floor would be tough. Breakfast wasn’t great. The hill back up after walking into Ksamil can be difficult if you aren’t mobile, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. The biggest issue was ordering food from the menu. We waited at least 45 minutes for a wrap and baked potato, then a delivery driver showed up with the food in a takeaway carton, and the order was wrong. If that’s how food is served, it would have been good to know. We lost almost an hour and missed out on Ksamil, and it was nearly 18 euro (1800 AL). Menu prices also felt extortionate for guests, the selection was limited, and we weren’t told about snack options. A Corona cost €4 (400 Lekk), compared with around €1-1.50 euro in nearby shops. It felt more like a guest house than a hotel. There was no clear sign showing where to check in, and no real welcome. Professionalism could improve. Staff spent time with friends and family and didn’t always seem to look after guests fully, which made us feel like strangers in someone else’s home. Some maintenance may be underway since it’s still developing, but wires were exposed and the wardrobe wasn’t properly attached to the wall, nearly falling on us. Saying goodbye felt cold. Cristina and Armando did say bye, but when our taxi arrived we walked past them while they sat chatting with friends and family. It would be nice to see guests out and check they’re satisfied. Some traditional hotel evenings with entertainment could be good too. I’m sharing all this in the hope they take it on board. It’s an up-and-coming hotel with real potential.
