Alnes Hotel

The food at the restaurant was delicious, and you can tell the excellent chef makes it with care and skill. Breakfast was very good too, with a nice range of options. The hotel was very clean, and the owner and his friend worked as a great team, going out of their way to make things comfortable for guests. I had a great stay and would happily return or recommend it.

The restaurant and its staff really made the stay. I had the best duck I've ever eaten, and all three dinners I had there were superb. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a nice sea view. Service was impeccable, with friendly, warm, helpful staff who made me feel like a VIP. The value was phenomenal, I doubt you'd find somewhere this nice for the same price elsewhere in the city. I'd give it six more stars if I could. VERY highly recommended.

The kitchen is the real gem here. We tried several restaurants in Saranda during our stay, but nothing compared with Alnes restaurant. Every dish was so delicious, it left us speechless. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, you should try the food at least once. The hotel is spotless, the service is superb, and the staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. We're still staying here now. Thank you, Alnes Staff!

The breakfast was below average, and the restaurant didn't seem worth trying after that. The buffet was low quality, even though some people might like it, and the pancakes and croissants were burnt. I checked out the same day. We only booked at the last minute because our booking was in Himare, but we were late driving and decided to stay in Sarande instead. We arrived with kids at 9 pm, tired from the beach and unable to change plans that late. The reviews had given us a misleading impression. There was no view, and our family room for four adults was old: a double bed room separated by a wall from a room with two single beds. The double room had no air conditioning and was extremely hot in July. It was on the first floor facing the street. We asked about noise and were told nights weren't too bad, but we couldn't sleep because of racing cars and motorbikes heading downtown and people talking loudly outside, as if they were in our room. Restaurant noise and nearby construction made it hard to sleep in the morning too. We wanted the convenient location, but it turned out not to be within walking distance of downtown. I know it's not an expensive hotel, but for me it didn't offer good value even at the lower price. The noise all day and night, no AC, bad bathroom, and breakfast that wasn't worth it didn't make up for the lower price. If you can't afford another 10 or 20 euros, that's fine, but I'd pay a bit more.
