Santa Oliva Suites

There was no reception or service to speak of, and nobody around who spoke English. We stayed in the junior suite in August 2021. The property and suite looked good, were new and clean, and had a spectacular view. But the place is isolated high up the mountain, and the infrastructure is really bad. The suite had no facilities at all: no plates, cutlery, small kitchenette, kettle, or coffee machine. There’s no breakfast either, so prepare as if you’re camping if you come to Santa Oliva. The nearest restaurant is on the beach, a steep walk of about 25 minutes away. I wouldn’t recommend the beach or restaurant, either. They were dirty and packed with people. Santa Oliva has a lot of potential. With a few easy improvements, they could do much better.

The apartment was very nice and cozy, in a quiet spot with an amazing view down to the sea. The furniture looked new, they cleaned the place daily, and the owners were very friendly. Nothing to moan about. We were a bit disappointed at first because we expected a room up where the suites are. The owner explained that those cost double or even more, and the site hadn’t shown us the option because they were fully booked for the entire summer. He took us to our apartment, about five minutes down. If we decide to come back to Ksamil, we’d love to return here.

The view is great from the best two rooms, though it’s not as good from the others. The access road is really steep and narrow. There’s no breakfast or even cutlery, despite the nearest market being miles away. The host was rude and tried to pressure us into paying cash. I don’t recommend the place at the high prices they ask.

The hilltop view was fantastic, but the site is still under construction. We had to call and wait for someone to show us our apartment. He couldn’t speak English, which we didn’t mind, but he hurried back to the beach. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, and it barely worked in the corner of the terrace. Way too expensive for what you get.
