Hotel Floga

The bathroom was in terrible condition and clearly hadn't been properly maintained for a long time. It was dirty, the shower cabin was missing an entire side and wouldn't close, the toilet lid was broken, there was humidity at the top, and the plastic shower rails were hanging out. I was also charged 50 LEK above the agreed price. Although the booking was in euros, I paid in LEK, so there was no reason for an additional conversion charge. We only knew breakfast was included because my wife checked the booking twice. Nobody told us the breakfast hours or explained anything at check-in, so we could easily have missed it. This hotel doesn't meet basic standards. If the owner says this review is fake, I have attached photos of the awful bathroom as proof.

The centre is roughly a 10 minute walk away, and the room itself was large. Unfortunately, the boiler had been switched off, and the bed was extremely hard, like a wooden plank. On the second night, a large generator outside the hotel made a lot of noise. I presume shilling was prohibited for the staff.

It was quiet, clean, simple, and comfortable, with everything a place needs. The mattresses were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked properly. The hotel is well located near the Castle and the city centre, and the staff were as friendly as needed. Prices for the rooms aren't expensive. Nothing overwhelming or disappointing, just right.

Having English-speaking staff at reception around the clock made things easy, and I really appreciated the help and hospitality. They even upgraded my room, which was a lovely gesture. Breakfast came with the stay and was fresh, plentiful, and more than enough. The check-in time was 1 pm, earlier than the 2-3 pm I saw at most places in town, and checkout was 11 am rather than 10. The location works well whether you’re walking or driving: the center is only a few minutes away on foot, and by car you can reach the hotel without losing time in central traffic. There’s private parking right in front, though I’d let the owner know ahead if you need a space so your car is secure.
