Hotel Vila Tako

I keep coming back to this hotel in Tirana, and I’ve grown really fond of it. The location is unbeatable, and once you meet the family who own and run the place, you see that everything works without any silly extravagance. The entrance can make a poor first impression: there’s just a doorbell, no proper front desk, and you need a key for the main door, which can sometimes be difficult to open. After that, there’s a corridor leading to the rooms.

A charming little hotel with lovely hosts. My room was clean and well furnished, and the generous breakfast is served in the restaurant downstairs. It’s one of the best places to stay in lively Tirana. The hotel also came through yesterday’s series of earthquakes without damage, which says something about its quality. 😉

The room was small, with a bathroom and balcony, but it looked chic and was clean. Breakfast was really good, and there’s no parking on the side. The bathroom was the main problem. There was a canalization smell that made it hard to breathe, the shower door seemed to have been taken as a souvenir, and the shower sink needed cleaning.

I stayed for 15 days and got A+ service. Everything was very clean, from the hotel and its decor to the restaurant, and the staff were really pleasant. The food was tasty too. I can’t say enough about the place, and I’ll definitely come back. I highly recommend staying at Vila Tako.
