Mandarine Hostel

I had to cancel my flight to Albania because something unexpected came up, so I couldn’t make it at all. I’d already booked a room at Mandarine Hostel, but the owner kindly refused to charge me. Even though I never stayed there, the warm, respectful, very human communication left a great impression. That kind of understanding and kindness is rare. I really appreciate the honesty and compassion, and I’d definitely choose this place if I visit Albania in the future. Highly recommended, and thank you so much.

The staff were super friendly. Our double room had a comfy mattress and duvet, its own good AC, bedside lights, and plenty of sockets with good wiring. The bathroom was shared, as we knew when booking, but it wasn’t an issue since there’s at least one on each small floor.

I had a private room and they let me bring my cat. The room had nice lighting options, and the AC heating worked well. There was parking on the property, reception was open around the clock, and card payment was accepted. The internet was fast enough for work and video calls. The place was extremely clean, including the bathrooms, and had a kitchen, fridge, and patios on several floors. Staff and other guests were friendly, the atmosphere was lively without being loud, and I could walk to anything I needed. They replied promptly whenever I got in touch. There was a small mix-up when I extended my stay, an easy language mistake over the days of the week. I’m not complaining; they handled it really well, offered me other options, and still kept their commitments to arriving guests.

Sokol and Angela were both repeatedly helpful, and the hostel has a slightly quirky feel that I liked. There were lots of interesting, friendly people coming and going. Just confirming what others have said, this is a genuinely good hostel in central Tirana. Highly recommended :)
