We had a confirmed booking for three adults at Mulaj Hotel and had already paid the full amount, but at check-in the front desk still tried to charge extra for the third person. The air conditioning was broken on our first night. The hotel waived the extra bed charge for that night because of the AC, then said they would charge for it on the second night after the AC was fixed, even though the three-person booking had been paid in full. When we suggested taking out the extra bed, staff replied that we had “NO LOGIC” and mockingly asked how three people could sleep in one bed. They also said only two people could stay if the extra bed was removed, contradicting our confirmed reservation. Being insulted as paying guests was unacceptable. The front desk showed little professionalism, empathy or ability to solve the problem. I’d strongly advise travelers to avoid this hotel if respectful service and fair treatment matter to you.

The hotel is in a great spot, with everything in the town center walkable, and breakfast was good by local standards. We stayed four nights, but our room was far below what the hotel advertised and much too expensive for its quality. It was large, but was really a separated room in a former apartment, accessed by stairs in an adjoining residential building. The staircase opened directly onto the street, and regular flats were next door. The room door only had an ordinary home-style key lock, while the actual hallway door was left open by other guests or staff. There was one window, a terrace door whose frame was no longer firmly attached to the wall. No locker box, TV, telephone or fridge/minibar either. The bathtub had no shower curtain, so water covered the floor and had already damaged the furniture. After we complained, staff installed a locker box within half an hour. The room was cleaned only on the second day, and only after we asked. It wasn’t cleaned the day before or after; sometimes trash sat in the hallway. They said they’d check whether we could move, but each day claimed the hotel was full, even though Booking.com still showed rooms available. We didn’t push the complaint further because we didn’t want to spoil our holiday. The room was okay, just nowhere near the standard of the hotel’s own advertising.

The hotel itself was okay for our three-night stay. We also booked a parking space there, and I strongly advise against doing that. The parking staff were rude and unfriendly. As we were leaving for the airport, the day-shift parking attendant was moving another guest’s car and hit ours on purpose. When we confronted him, he laughed and walked off. We were standing right there and saw it ourselves, so management doesn’t need to check the security cameras as they did for other bad reviews. See those reviews too, we’re not the only ones this happened to.

We spent three comfortable days at Mulaj Hotel, from February 16 to February 19, 2026. Its location made it easy to walk to places around the city, and the rooms were very clean and well kept. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the price felt fair for what we got. Anyone visiting Tirana can add this hotel to their list without hesitation. Thank you, Mulaj Hotel.

The receptionist, Xhelona, was especially kind, professional and welcoming, and the rest of the staff were fantastic too. Our room was lovely, with a balcony, and the hotel is close to both the city center and the upscale neighborhood Blloku. Breakfast was delicious, and everything felt comfortable and well organized. Highly recommended!
