The sand is nice, and the water stays shallow for quite a way as you walk in, which makes it good for kids. You can bring your own umbrella and towel. It’s a shame there’s no toilet, and the changing booth smells really bad.

The sea wasn’t rough while we were there, and the beach starts out shallow. There are stones, but if you head right along the public beach toward the end of the fixed white umbrellas, you’ll find a stretch without them.

I’d spend all my extra days in Albania in Vlore. Lungomare has so much going on: restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, guesthouses, kiosks with ice cream and fruit, and plenty more. Supermarkets and barber shops are around too, as are Turkish style ice cream kiosks. The beach is on the other side of the Lungomare area, and water activities leave from the nearby port. There’s also Tirana Wheel and a play area for kids and adults. You can arrange a daily tour with one of the many agents waiting for guests at each corner.

I had a great time here, and the prices were good, the people nice, and the view amazing. But I saw comments from other visitors mentioning a sewer pipe that sends dirty water into the sea. I never saw the pipe myself, yet during the day I noticed a really bad smell in the water. Only after reading those comments did I realize where it might be coming from. Knowing about that sewer system now, I won’t come back.

Most of the beach is nice, but there’s one spot where the smell suddenly gets really bad. It stinks.
