Luxe Plaza Hotel

We only stayed one night, and the noise was enough to put us off. The hotel is on a main road, so you hear all the cars heading to the airport, and the doors don't block the sound either. The interior looks nice in general, but the service, room, and smaller details don't live up to the hotel's “luxury” label.

A handy place to stay near the airport. I got there around 5 a.m., and they helped me arrange food delivery, which made for a really pleasant arrival. We also had a plumbing problem in the room, but they promptly moved us to an upgraded one without any fuss. Great customer service.

I booked a room for my 21-hour layover, but at arrival they wanted to charge one and a half times the reservation rate because my check-in and check-out times were outside the standard hours. A city hotel doing that might be understandable. Airport hotels are supposed to be flexible about those times, and the others always are.

In September, our room was passably clean, though the bin was full of used sanitary pads. What really shocked us was finding a scorpion nest under the bed. One scorpion came out from under the pillow near my wife's head. At first the staff wouldn't return our money, but after they inspected the room, they changed their mind.
