Aparthotel Tropicana

The dinner is bad, especially at $20, and the Wi-Fi is crap, disconnecting all the time. Some staff act like they own the place. LELO, the manager, wasn’t accommodating and couldn’t make a decision. Book at your own risk, that’s my opinion!

The place is decent and clean, and reception staff are polite, though their English isn’t very good. Food is average, and the internet is neither fast nor slow, just average too. I understand it was Covid-19 time, but I’d have preferred proper crockery in the room instead of plastic forks and disposable boxes, especially since there’s a kitchen sink for washing dishes. It’s a three-star hotel, so you shouldn’t expect five-star facilities or luxury.

Maybe the service matches the price locally, since it costs less by Luanda standards, but it’s still much more expensive by international standards. The manager is shrewd. They wouldn’t provide even one extra glass for offering a guest water in the room, and there were no tea bags after the first check-in. Worst of all, there was no POS for payment.

Hotel Tropicana has fantastic food and great service. The rooms are much cleaner than elsewhere in Luanda. Service with a smile, too. I’d personally recommend Hotel Tropicana to anyone looking for a hotel in Luanda.
