I’m sure I’ll be happy at other points in my life, but I don’t think I’ll ever be happier than I was during my time at Surucuá. Giuli, Laura, Adrián, thank you for an experience I’ll never forget. The hosts, Laura and Adrián, go out of their way to make you feel at home. The cooks Claudia and Veronica put so much love into their delicious regional food that you can taste it. And Giuli is a wonderful guide, sharing fascinating knowledge in a way that makes you feel inspired and grateful to be alive on this beautiful planet. It feels wonderfully remote, yet it’s still accessible, and there are so many kinds of animals to see in a day. We went on early walks to see beautiful birds, took exciting night treks through the jungle where capybaras, tapirs and jaguars roam, kayaked the gorgeous Iguazú river at sunset, and toured a picturesque Mate farm. Surucuá is truly magical, and words don’t do justice to the place or the gracious people who share it with you.

I was so relaxed and happy after four nights at Surucua Retreat that I really didn’t want to leave. Laura and Adrian are wonderful hosts, and the guides know their stuff. The meals were exceptional too. I can’t say enough about what a fabulous stay it was.

The rooms are spacious and clean, the food is amazing, and the hosts are incredible. They’re just as keen as you are to see wildlife and enjoy your vacation, and do everything they can to make your visit special. From the moment you step out of the car onto the welcoming porch of the Surucua Lodge, you’re treated like family, with magical forest all around. I can’t wait to go back!

We could relax completely at this place, far enough from busy Iguazù to get away from the crowds. The hosts were friendly and professional, and the food was wonderful. Based on our stay, it deserves five stars.

I loved it so much that this was my second visit. It’s a great place for birdwatchers, but also for anyone who wants to unwind in nature and get away from the crowds at Iguazu. Laura and Adrian are charming, welcoming hosts, and Adrian knows the birds in the area inside out. The support staff are lovely and serve excellent meals, with options for vegetarians and vegans. The lodge and cabins are comfortable places to relax.
