The place itself is beautiful, but it seems like it hasn’t been maintained in ages. The deck boards are loose, there are no railings, and if you leave something behind, it’s gone. I forgot my thermos and it disappeared. What a shame. Everything I read in the reviews was true, and if I’d seen them before booking, I obviously wouldn’t have booked. It isn’t cheap for what they offer.

The beach bar is fantastic, and its staff really lift the place. That’s what makes me want to return. The accommodation’s customer service, though, felt cold and distant, almost nonexistent. The beachside location is beautiful, but the stairs are awkward and not ideal for older people. It works well for a group of friends. The deck feels neglected, with sand that needs clearing and old boards that need replacing. Hopefully the access points will be clear of sand next time, and we’ll add another star.

The rooms are lovely and well equipped, with kitchen utensils and everything you need, plus more. It’s a paradise-like spot for relaxing. The service could have been better, since they made us pay the full stay in advance. Parking is awful: the spaces are so close together that two cars barely fit, and untrimmed plants block entrances in many spots. I’d have given it 5 stars if those things were improved. It’s a very windy area, and storms are intense. Things get blown around and the ground shakes a little. When it rains, the dirt and sand road to the center of Montehermoso gets deep puddles, making it difficult in a low-clearance car.

The view and beachfront location are the main selling points of this apartment, but at $120 a night I found it quite overpriced for what it offers. Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out at 10:00 AM, with little flexibility, which cuts into the usable stay for that nightly rate. The apartment also has visible maintenance and appearance issues that don’t match the price, including mold in the shower. They allow pets, which isn’t an issue by itself, but the blankets smelled of pets and that was unpleasant. Privacy was a major concern. The shared hallway runs right beside the window, which is at waist height for people walking past. Guests returning from the beach can see directly into the apartment. This wasn’t mentioned beforehand. Booking through Booking.com also doesn’t clearly say which apartment you’ll get. They later contact you on WhatsApp with “what’s available” and suggest booking outside the platform would be cheaper, but that wasn’t true in my case. The process should be more transparent. They tell you on arrival that the water isn’t potable, but the water from the taps and shower is light brown. It looks unsettling and unpleasant for bathing or everyday hygiene, quite apart from being unsafe to drink. It also left my skin feeling itchy and the bathroom smelling unpleasant. Other beachfront accommodations have filtration systems that improve water quality, something I would expect at this price. I’ve attached photos of these issues so people can judge for themselves. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but I expected much better maintenance, transparency, and comfort for the price.
